It’s not about the popularity for me but they got rid of Starmer because of his unpopularity but every leader around the world are unpopular too, they didn’t get rid of their leaders.
For me it’s these MP’s making a decision without the members having a say. It’s very undemocratic. What’s the point of being a member if they’ll just ignore us?
This is a coup that has been in the works for months. No thanks.
Trudeau in Canada was replaced and Carney won the general election. The question for us is whether replacing Starmer increases Labour’s chances of winning the next general election.
I’m wondering how all this sits with a contested leadership election & the introspection that goes with it - a huge turn off to voters in my experience.
This coup is a huge turn off to Labour members. As a member I can’t carry on with Labour. Burnham’s popularity is already tanking to -11.
I expect it to drop even more by Christmas.
I’m truly hugely disappointed that PLP are ignoring us and I’ll never forgive the cabinet for turning against Starmer.
Would it make a difference if he were more popular? According to YouGov he’s the most popular Labour politician. https://yougov.com/ratings/popularity/labour-politicians/all
No he tanked since he announced to -11.

That’s not a model.
